DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

Department of Computer Science was established in the year 1994 with the introduction of Computer Science as a cognate subject in the B.Sc programme. Computer Application was introduced at B.Com level during 1996-97 as a vocational course. Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application course was introduced during the same year. During 2002-03 Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) was started.B.A(Data Processing), and Hardware and Networking as Add on Course. There are nearly 300 students pursuing the courses keenly supported by a team of 11 staff that include two permanent teachers. Curriculum teaching is complemented by well organized Laboratory facilities. Two permanent teachers are involved in research work – one on data mining applications in Bioinformatics and the other on Hyperspectral imaging. One minor UGC funded research project has been completed.
